GIFT SHOP FAST RFQ
Request a shelf-ready shortlist instead of a random catalog
Gift shops convert better with a focused assortment. Send your display style, price position and packaging preference so the shortlist can prioritize retail-ready SKUs.
Build a small assortment with clear visual roles
A first gift-shop order does not need dozens of unrelated designs. Start with a small family that customers can understand from several feet away: recognizable fruit or food, one or two character items and perhaps a seasonal or novelty accent. Give every style a buyer-facing name and SKU so sales staff, warehouse staff and the supplier can discuss the same item.
For a fruit-led display, Strawberry Squishy, Blueberry Squishy and Avocado Squishy provide distinct silhouettes while staying within one theme. Cheese Squishy – 4 Styles can add a playful food shape. Compare how the loose and packed products face the customer before selecting the final mix.
Use a price ladder, not one price point
Plan a good-better-best range based on landed cost, perceived size, packaging and local retail expectations. A compact impulse item can support the entry point, while a larger or more detailed shape can anchor a higher price. Do not rely on the factory unit price alone. Add packaging, cartons, freight, duties, payment costs, inspection and a reasonable damage allowance before setting the shelf price.
Ruiwo Toys product pages show a public EXW Yiwu reference price so buyers can shortlist products. Request a dated quotation for the actual quantity, packaging and destination. Calculate expected gross margin and the number of units that must sell before the initial freight and setup costs are recovered.
Design the shelf and counter display
Measure the available shelf, basket, peg or counter area. Note whether the product needs to stand, hang or sit in a display box. Large, soft products can lose their shape if squeezed into a package, while round products may roll or face away from the shopper. Ask for a photo of the packed unit from the customer’s viewing angle and a photo of a full display or inner carton when one is used.
Keep category signage simple: fruit squishies, food squishies, cute characters or seasonal gifts. Use a clean price label and keep the product’s SKU in the store system. Rotate a few designs rather than hiding every style in one crowded container. A recognizable hero item near the front can introduce the range, while complementary shapes encourage multi-item purchases.
Choose packaging for handling and presentation
Open handling can increase tactile engagement but also raises concerns about dirt, puncture, odor transfer and inconsistent presentation. A clear bag preserves visibility at low volume. A PVC or color box creates more structure and branding space but may increase carton volume. A display box can speed counter setup if its case pack fits the store’s sales rate.
Check barcode placement, warning text, importer information and destination-market requirements before printing. Approve the product inside the proposed pack, not only the artwork. The custom packaging guide compares common formats and shows how packaging can change carton quantity and gross weight.
Use samples to reduce store-level surprises
Sample the actual shortlist and review size, unit weight, squeeze feel, recovery, odor, seams, surface finish and package fit. Ask several staff members to handle the items and record consistent observations. Photograph each sample with its SKU and keep the approved version with the quotation. If the order contains multiple styles, state the assortment ratio and how cartons will be labeled.
Before bulk production, define basic acceptance checks for appearance, dimensions, weight range, seams, filling, packaging and carton marks. Ask which testing documents are current for the exact SKU and market. The testing-document page explains why a report for a different item should not be assumed to cover the selected product.
Plan replenishment from the first order
Track sales by SKU rather than one combined “squishy toys” category. Record units received, units sold, damaged units, markdowns and weeks of supply. After the initial selling period, reorder the strongest few styles and reduce products that consume display space without moving. Save supplier lead time, carton quantity and freight assumptions so the next purchase can be placed before stock reaches zero.
Seasonal items need a separate calendar with enough time for samples, artwork, production and inbound freight. Evergreen fruit, food or animal styles can form the base assortment while seasonal designs create short promotional moments. A stable core plus controlled experiments is usually easier to manage than rebuilding the whole range every order.
